In the film Miss Congeniality, Sandra Bullock played a FBI agent who went undercover in a beauty pageant. In one scene, her character poked a bit of fun at the pageant contestants who always wished for World Peace.
I'll admit that wishing for World Peace is admirable and great acheivement. However, I believe we need more than World Peace, so I wish for Global Unconditional Love. Although we could obtain world peace, i.e., no international conflicts and wars, the contention, hatred and megalomania that permeates our modern world would still be actively festering under a superficial veil of civility.
World peace alone doesn't address situations occurring daily right here in the United States. Situations such as:
Hate filled rhetoric and actions by the extreme ends of our political spectrum;
Political and radical idealistic based murders;
School yard bullying for perceiving someone to be gay or lesbian or bullying for any reason borne from home-learned hatred and intolerance;
Over-hyped, sensationalized, irrational hate-mongering cloaked as "News";
Those who protest honorable military service personnel's funerals in the name of their God;
The devastating acts of parents not extending unconditional love to their own child by not embracing him or her for who they are due to clashing ideology and dogmatic belief structures.
So, I am on a journey to be the change I want to see through learning how to live with unconditional love. I'll be exploring the limits and boundaries that may have to be addressed when dealing with others not on the same path in the most compassionate manner possible. I hope to inspire you to do the same.
Let's journey together.
