The winner of the first promotional contest at www.DennisVelco.com is Ryan Young of New York, NY. Ryan won a custom original Abstract 10 x 10 inch work of art in the random drawings from all eligible entries and was contacted shortly after the announcement of his winning via Facebook (Be sure to "Like" my Facebook Fan Page to be notified of future contests and new works). We scheduled around an hour via phone to begin to get to know one another and learn about his interests in art.
Ryan was very attracted to my current floral motifs such as Family of Poppies. As a long time Buddhist Ryan also felt a connection to the more spiritually side of my works and was drawn to other works such as It's Not Too Late #1 and It's Not Too Late #3. From his comments about my current work I deduced he was drawn to works with circular motion. We also discussed a little about his work and social life as well as colors he is drawn to. Taking this all into mind I felt I had a strong vision for a work that incorporated the elements the would suit his personal tastes while maintaining my own artistic vision and style.
