August 2011- Tenth of ten canvases in the "Awakening" series. Original Modern Abstract Energy Art painting. Painted in acrylic on archival gallery quality canvas, 36 x 36 inches, (91.4 x 91.4 cm) with 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) black finished, staple-free edges. Painted by finger directly onto the canvas. See Artist's Statement.
The unfortunate thing with photographed art is that it does not represent reflective qualities well. This painting will be slightly different based on the location lighting (artificial or natural) due to the high texture relief and the reflective silver and gold tone paints that appear gray and yellow in the photograph.
Artist's Motivation and Thoughts:
This artwork may stand alone yet is is also part of the greater series titled "Awakending" and the larger body of my current full portfolio. I strived to capture the enery of a bright awakened aware foreverness while still remaining warm and connected to the underlying range of colors and energies that make up white and it's purity, wholeness, wisedom, unity and harmony, If just one supporting color energy gets out of sync white turns to a different color. Thus for white to exist all others must exist in harmony. Try to consider how might this apply to your life. What does this have to share? Are we representing the color white in oursleves, our lives, our family, in the community and larger sphere to it's fullest? How might we evolve? White is both the building up of the colors that make it and it is also a foundation for a fresh start and new horizon. In Japan white is the traditional color of mourning the loss of a loved one. Rather than death I like to consider it a transformation of energy from one form to another.
